Many years ago, I conceived of an essay that was to be titled “People Are Shit: The Case Against Humanity for the Long Term.” (I will write about the actual ideas the essay was meant to explore later, but the opening frame was: what might happen to humanity in 10 million years?) Over time, as I added to this germinating essay, it would eventually become a living book of my thoughts, revised and updated as I was. A modern work in the vein of Montaigne.

So, this is the beginning of that. I'd prefer this site to be chiral rather than go viral. Its content is much more likely to have handedness than handiness. It may mirror the world and my thinking, but will definitely be different from both.
